Incredible Healing Story from Dr. Paul Harch & Harch HBOT

At Iowa HBOT, we love sharing real stories that show just how powerful hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be. In this blog, we’re highlighting an inspiring case from Dr. Paul Harch, a leading expert in hyperbaric medicine.

In his recent YouTube video and accompanying blog, Dr. Harch shares the remarkable recovery of a young girl who suffered a devastating dog bite injury to her nose. Traditional treatments offered limited options, but through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Dr. Harch and his team were able to promote rapid healing, save vital tissue, and restore her natural facial appearance.

The family sought out this therapy independently of the standard medical guidance. And you can see how happy they are to have implemented hyperbaric oxygen into the care plan for their daughter's recovery

How HBOT Made a Difference

HBOT works by delivering medical-grade oxygen in a pressurized chamber, which allows oxygen to dissolve more efficiently into the bloodstream. This boosts circulation, accelerates tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and prevents infection, key factors in cases involving severe soft tissue trauma.

In this young patient’s case, HBOT helped regenerate damaged tissue and prevent the scarring and disfigurement that might otherwise have occurred. Her transformation is both medically remarkable and emotionally powerful, reminding us of the body’s ability to heal when given the right tools.

How This Aligns with Our Practice at Iowa HBOT

At Iowa HBOT, we see similar outcomes every day: patients experiencing faster recovery, reduced swelling, and improved healing after surgery, trauma, stroke, TBIs, and with chronic and autoimmune conditions. Like Dr. Harch, our approach is rooted in evidence-based hyperbaric medicine and a deep belief in the body’s natural capacity to restore itself with the right support.

We’re proud to offer the same therapy principles that guided this young girl’s healing journey, right here in Iowa. Whether for wound care, post-surgical recovery, inflammation, or complex injuries, HBOT continues to demonstrate transformative potential for patients of all ages.
